Did you guess that with a name like Designer Cookie the cupcakes would be named after fashion designers? Right in the centre is Dolce & Banana and at the bottom right corner, Christian Dioreo. Strangely, I think the Dolce & Banana is the only stylish cupcake I saw — is that weird for me to say? I mean, how exactly do you dress up a cupcake?
I didn’t eat the banana cupcake topped with chocolate buttercream and a banana chip. Instead, I had the alien green one up at the top left corner. When I saw it in the shop, you can guess I got pretty excited. (I love mint chocolate.) It isn’t one of the flavours listed on their website, so I wonder if this mint chocolate cupcake was named after a designer too. Could you think of a name for it?
The icing was too much on the sweet side — to me, all icing is too much on the sweet side — but I didn’t mind. It wasn’t too minty either, which is a good thing! I always fear mint icing tasting like toothpaste. The rest, I shared with the family, and, from their reactions, everyone seemed to enjoy theirs.
Clever or cheesy naming practice? It won’t matter after taking one bite of their gourmet cupcakes. Thank goodness you won’t find any cheese in there. (But, you might have already found some in this post. Apologies.)
