Chicken Parmesan Sandwich and a pint of Blanche de Chambly from Future Bakery & Cafe (483 Bloor St West)

Having only had this sandwich at Future Bakery & Cafe, I can’t say much about their food. Nothing spectacular but also no complaints about the chicken parm.

Actually, Jerson and I decided to sit in so he could try Hoegaarden. Our server recommended the Blanche de Chambly, of which we ordered two pints, cuz, as he said, you get more bang for your buck. It’s no Hoegaarden, but I just love people who offer suggestions and tips to the customers (re Greg’s post).

So the food is not what I love about this place — although I do still need to try something from the bakery end. It’s the environment. Sure, you have to line up and order your food, not unlike at a cafeteria, but you don’t need to be formally shown to your seats. Walk in and sit down (or walk back out to sit on the patio). Very homey.

Future is just a great place to catch up with a few friends over beers.

About

It's quite simple: this is a blog about food. We are two friends, both named Christine, who love to eat. We spend money we don't have on eating out and invite our broke friends to join us. That's how much we love food.

Based in Toronto.
