Tacos from Rebozos (214 Augusta Ave)
The El Gordo food court has got to be the best place to get an array of Latin American food in one convenient spot. So, naturally, Tanner and I knew we had to make our way down there. Initially, our plan was to try the famous Agave y Aguacate, but we weren’t so lucky having caught them packing up for an event at Mel Lastman Square. This left us to try Rebozos, the taco vendor right beside.
We ordered the three available tacos — chicken, lamb, and pulled pork. Based on the picture, you can see why we thought these would turn out great. They look great but were rather disappointing.
The chicken, generally the safest choice, was dry and lacked flavour. The Lamb had much of the amazing lamb flavour but not much else to enhance it. The pulled pork  (carnitas), as expected nowadays with the great pulled pork trend happening in T-Dot, was the saving grace. It was tender with a nice smoky flavour that complemented the pico de gallo.

The word is Robozo’s and Agave Y Aguacate, both with plans of opening their own locations, disappeared from 214 Augusta after construction and were replaced by a new joint called Seven Lives.

About

It's quite simple: this is a blog about food. We are two friends, both named Christine, who love to eat. We spend money we don't have on eating out and invite our broke friends to join us. That's how much we love food.

Based in Toronto.
