Taste of Greek Cuisine (Delivery)

This feast happened out of the fact that we were hungry but too lazy to go out. It was just one of those days. We lucked out with Taste of Greek because—do I really need to explain? Look at all that food! This, apparently, is a dinner for three, which includes three sides, three sticks of pork, three sticks of chicken, spinach pie, and gyros, on top of which we ordered calamari as an appetizer. There were four of us, and, by the end of the meal, each of us had a decently sized container of leftovers to bring home or to work the next day.
This post isn’t all about the value though. The food was quality food. You usually just get one or the other.
For starters, the calamari had a simple breading with enough seasoning for taste but not too much to cover the natural flavours of the calamari. I personally don’t like greek salad, so that was a pass on my part. Same goes for Phil, but Tanner and Rene liked it enough.
The sides were roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, and rice pilaf. The mixed vegetables were steamed and finished off with just enough salt and pepper. The roasted potatoes were so soft that they felt apart on contact with our forks — just the way I like it! The rice pilaf was nothing special but also nothing short of what you’d expect, so don’t cut it out of the mix!
Chicken souvlaki sticks are my usual go-to when it comes to Greek cuisine. It definitely didn’t disappoint. It was moist and full of flavour. And the size? Large enough for you to be full of chicken, so I had to alternate these with the pork sticks, which, too, had its own show in Flavortown. (Thanks Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!) I unfortunately didn’t get to try the spinach pie, but I know it was Tanner’s first time trying it and she was an instant fan.
My favourite of the night? The gyros! They weren’t at all dry. They were simply melt-in-your-mouth moist.
Scarborough followers, give Taste of Greek Cuisine a try!

P.S. We’re still on a streak of good food, and hopefully it doesn’t stop! We keep lucking out, Tanner!
