Like Christine posted last week, we hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year! (Are we too far into January to bring up the holidays still?) To be perfectly honest with you, we hadn’t been eating out much since the fall term and stress ended, and over the holidays. But there has been a whole lotta homecooked meals and baked goods! So that’s what I have hear to share.
Okay, I’m going to travel even further back in time to share these photos with you. Merky baked these goodies for my birthday in November. She’s a wonderful baker, so I was pretty psyched when I opened the boxes:
- Snickerdoodle cupcakes with a streusel topping and milk glaze! My current favourite thing she bakes, They’re amazing when they’re fresh, but if you pop one that isn’t straight from the oven into the microwave for a couple of seconds, they’re just as good.
- Butterscotch Blondies with Pecans! The bites with the butterscotch are the best.
- Classic chocolate chip cookies she’s been baking for who knows how long now and has inevitably perfected! They have a powdery texture that I love, yet they never crumble.
She’s honestly the best! Can’t you tell. Anyone make and/or receive cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc., this season? I’m a hypocrite for saying this since admittedly, I kept most of these to myself — please, do share!
